"Halogen"
changes its name to "Aneiki"
|
Halogen, the band
that Daniel Jones has signed to his new record label - Meridie
Music, has changed their name to "Aneiki". The first
single is called "Pleased To Meet You" and has been
mixed in the US by Dave Way. The video for the single is being
shot next week in Brisbane by Fifty Fifty Productions. They've
done clips for lots of great Aussie bands like Powderfinger
and Killing Heidi. The single is due to go to radio in mid
June and will be in stores by the first week of July. Their
new album will be called, "Words In Place Of
Objects". "Aneiki" is Jenny Waite (former
backing singer for Savage Garden) and Grant Wallis. If you
want to hear their new song and for more information about
them go to their website:

There is another
award that they might have a good chance at winning, but I
don't know for sure it they are up for it. This is what it
says on the site: "Most Performed Australian Work
Overseas" - There is only one nominee in this category,
to be announced as the winner at the Awards
Presentation." The Awards will be presented on
Monday 28 May 2001 at the Randwick Pavilion, AJC Convention
Centre, Randwick Racecourse in Sydney. For more information: APRA
Nominations. Daniel will be there! This is the news
report: "Daniel Jones, half of the hottest duo in the
world today, Savage Garden, will be on hand to present the
APRA Songwriter of the Year Award for 2001. Daniel and his
writing and performing partner Darren Hayes were themselves
recipients of the APRA Songwriter of the Year award twice - in
1998 and 2000. Since an extensive world tour in 2000, Savage
Garden has been taking a break to work on individual projects.
Daniel Jones has been busy with his new production company,
Meridien Musik, producing other artists. His appearance at the
2001 APRA Music Awards will be a rare public appearance for
this year."
